SINOPEC begins Guangxi LNG construction

SINOPEC Natural Gas Company started construction at the company’s LNG project in Guangxi with 17.78 billion yuan of first phase investment.

For a long time, lack of energy resources is one of the restrictions to fast and sustainable economic and social development in Guangxi.

This project will help to optimize the energy structure in Guangxi and LNG planning in coastal areas, a statement said.

Upon its completion, the project will be complementary and supporting to the second west-east gas pipeline and Sino-Burma pipeline.

In addition, this project is significant to the establishment of Guangxi gas network, to provincial government’s target of natural gas supply to all counties, and to local economic development, according to the company.
